Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of millions of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate.

I'm arting it I'm arting ouhhhg I'm arting it ahhh ougg agghhh I'm ouh I'm arting it

I've been doing stuff with a pencil since I was possibly 0 years old, and it's all been downhill from there. Not much else to say, check out my stuff!

Sorry, nothing here yet

I love animating it's true ask myFuckkkkkkk krita crashed again fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

I've always had an interest in animation, I suppose it came natural from my love of traditional art. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is, but the satisfaction of seeing drawings come into motion is a feeling that's incredibly gratifying. Though, I suppose it's the same feeling that comes from seeing anything you put effort into come together. Here are some of the things I've done over the years!

I love making art. Always have. I don't know why the first category is called art because this is technically all art. Video games, by far, are my favorite, because they include all of the above; from the visual art to the music, the story and of course the way it all interlaces together, video games have this fascinating potential that I just can't get enough of. I began wanting to make games very early in life, using whatever software or program was at my disposal, and continue to this day to try and impress the child I was through what I can make. Here's a couple of the things I've made!

Untitled Shrimp Game
(MalRightNao • 2025)

Everything

Untitled Shrimp Game, also known internally as "get out of slump", was a game I began working on a few months after the release of Failboat Has Been Murdered, needing something again to keep me occupied. I hadn't touched RPG Maker in a while, but I figured it couldn't hurt to mess with it again. I ultimately cancelled the project to work on Failtopia SUPERCUT instead. I may come back to it someday, but in the meanwhile the game and all of it's files are now available for download right below!

Failboat Has Been Murdered
(MalrightNao/TheMaglorian • 2025)

Everything but coding

Failboat Has Been Murdered (shortened FHBM) is a hand drawn murder mystery fangame centered around Youtuber Failboat, who, as you could guess, has been murdered. Investigate his strange manor and interogate his peculiar guests (who are all characters pulled from his Youtube Career) to figure out the truth behind his untimely demise. The game was built by my uncle (coding) and me (writing and art) over the course of a year and a half, featuring an a sizeable original soundtrack and 7-8 hours of content. Play it now for free on itch.io!

Failgex Official
Roleplay: Green Update
(FGORP dev team • 2025)

Coding, Various assets, Writing

Failgex Official Roleplay (shortened FGORP) is a Roblox semi-parody roleplay experience featuring characters from the Failboat x Gex franchise. Green Update, one of it's first major, has the player abandon the passive experience of the game to enter Green Manor, a parkour-filled, narative-heavy area where they must reach and confront (with the help of their partner Wincar) the nefarious Green Eyea. Most if not all of the LUA coding for this update was done by me, along with a handful of assets. I also contributed to the writing of the dialogue and some map building.

Failboat X Gex Deluxe
(BagelBandit087 • 2022)

Character Sprites

Failboat x Gex Deluxe (shortened Failgex Deluxe) is a remake of the original Failgex game, rebuilt with new characters, dialogue, and a story x4 as big. As most characters in the original game are illustrated by different artists, I was asked by BagelBandit087 when the original team was revamping their sprites to illustrate two new characters, Jex (Gex's distant french relative) and Cuz (Gex's cousin).

Malatak
(MalRightNao • ~2018)

Everything

Malatak is an RPG Maker game following Malak, an ordinary teenager who awakens to be the hero of legend. After his village gets attacked by the dark lord, he must set out to save his people and the world! Malatak was my first proper project, I worked on it on my laptop in my old home when I was 12-13. The game is entirely in french, and was unfortunately(?) never completed.

Kasane fucking Teto yeahhh

Music is, by all technical terms, really fucking awesome. But this is a professional website so I shouldn't say that. I started making music on this website named "Jummbox" in 2021, publishing whatever I could make sound good to my Bandcamp, but it wasn't until 2025 I actually gave a serious shot at it, and began writing a couple of songs on fl studio using UTAUloid Kasane Teto for their vocals.

Restless Cycle (ft. Kasane Teto)

My second song, this time made after acquiring a copy of FL Studio. Still hammering down the basics, but I think it sounds pretty good. It uses a lot of soundbites from Youtuber Failboat, which has nothing to do with the song.

Stop Drop (ft. Kasane Teto)

My first "proper" song, Stop Drop was composed on Garage Band on my then newly acquired Ipad. It was my first time attempting to put lyrics onto a melody, and while I think I could have done some things differently, I don't consider it too bad for a first attempt.

Older stuff

Compilations of various tracks I made throughout 2021-2022, published to my Bandcamp, all composed on Jummbox. They're not very good.

I edit videos sometime it's cool I mean I guess have you guys heard of Miitopia

I've always loved editing, since as long as I can remember having done it. It's not an easy skill to perfect, but it's very easy to pick up. I started editing videos for a friend back in 2020, but only really got back into it when I started my first big "personal" project, Failtopia SUPERCUT, in 2023/2025 (first episode was edited long before the others)

2025-Present

Failtopia SUPERCUT is a solo project I began to edit all of Failboat's Miitopia playthrough, a series of livestreams published from 2018-2021 spanning 135+ hours of footage, into easily digestible 20 minutes episodes. My goal was to allow this classic within the community to gather a bigger audiance than simply by word of mouth. While the editing is done wholly by me, each episodes features a guest artist from the community illustrating its thumbnail. I'm currently working on editing down the first season (3DS playthrough), but the plan is to go through the entire series in time. The current schedule is of one episode every month or two, due to life being what it is.

Watch it now!

I'm pretty epic. And awesome. Dot com. I mean dot org. Fuck
About Me!

✧BIO✧

Hey, I'm Maël, but I go by Mal! I'm an artist, animator and songwriter, or at least I try to be! I was born in Québec so I speak both English and French. I love exaggerated, shape heavy art, my biggest inspirations growing up being games like Rayman Origins and Don't Starve.

The games that influenced me the most in my life are LittleBigPlanet 2, Don't Starve Together and Super DanganRonpa 2. I'm not sure why, I guess I have a thing for sequels?

I'm not super good at social media, but you can follow me on Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram under the username MalRightNao. You can also join me using Mal9Studio@outlook.com!
